Do not allow your child to climb on goals. Do not allow your
children to move goals.-
Each Goal must be anchored
or sandbagged before you allow your
children to play soccer. There are extra sandbags near each of the
three Paint sheds. There have been at least 34 USA deaths associated
with soccer goals since 1979. Always secure goals in ground. Never
climb on goals. Many of these deaths and injuries happen when
children are moving goals.
Portable Soccer Goal Crushes
10 year Old Texas Boy
A 10 year old male
suffered a fatal injury to the head when a soccer goal fell onto
him. The victim and 2 friends were playing around and climbing
onto the goal. The victim was climbing on the inside netting
when his foot became caught approximeately one foot from the
ground. While trying to free it, the goal fell forward, landing
on his head. The goal was not properly secured, non-official
size and no warning labels were attached. Estimated weight: 400
